Cookies explained
“Cookies, explained without jargon”
Two short notes live in your browser while you use this site, and a map may set a few of its own. Here is the whole list.
In more detail
“What each part means”
What cookies are
A cookie is a small note that a website asks your browser to keep. Some are essential, some are convenient and some follow you from page to page. This website does not use the last kind. It keeps two notes in local storage, which belongs to your browser and is not sent to us when you load a page.
Consent is off by default
Nothing optional is switched on until you agree. The cookie notice appears once at the foot of the page. If you ignore it or decline, the site works the same way, and a booking request can still be sent.
How to manage your choice
To change your answer, clear this site's data in your browser settings. Both notices will return on your next visit, and you can respond differently. Nothing else needs to be done, and nobody at the lodge will know what you chose.
The kinds in use
Two are in use: a note that records your age confirmation and a note that records your cookie answer. A third, a simple visit counter, is prepared but switched off. If it is ever enabled, this page will be rewritten first to describe what it counts.
The map on the street page
The map is supplied by Google and loads as soon as the street page opens. We have not hidden it behind a click. Google may set cookies when the map loads, and we cannot control them. If you prefer to avoid them, read the address in text and use your own map.
What is never kept
No name, email address, booking detail or payment information is stored in your browser by this site. The booking form sends its message once, when you press the button, and the browser forgets it as soon as you leave the page.
Lifetimes
The two notes stay in your browser until you clear its data or the browser removes them. They do not expire on a timer. The map's cookies follow Google's rules, which are published on its own site.
