Keeping details safe

“Your details, and what happens to them”

This page sets out who is responsible for the details you send to the lodge, why they are used and when they are deleted.

Who and why

“Responsibility, reasons and recipients”

Who is responsible

The operator of the venue, named on the Meet the team page and in the footer of every page, is responsible for the personal details collected through this website. Day to day, the details are handled by the host and the floor manager at the lodge, who answer to the operator and to the law.

The basis for using your details

Your details are used because you asked us to: a booking request is an invitation to reply, and we cannot reply without a name and an address. We do not need your agreement for anything else, because we do nothing else with the details. The consent box on the form confirms the request and your age.

What the form collects

The booking form asks for your name, email address, the date, time and number of guests, a seating preference and an optional note. It asks no financial information and no identification numbers. If you volunteer a dietary or access need in the note, it is used only to prepare for your visit.

The purposes

The details are used to answer your request, to prepare a table or a place, to contact you if plans change and to remember an allergy for the same visit. They are not used for advertising, for profiling or for sending news you did not ask for.

Time and rights

“Keeping, sharing and deleting”

How long details are kept

Booking messages are kept for three months after the date requested, in case a guest wishes to ask about a visit, and are then deleted. Notes made from a telephone call are shredded at the end of the week. A request you withdraw is deleted sooner, as soon as we have read your message.

Who sees the details

Only the host, the floor manager and, for an allergy, the head chef. Details are not sold, not rented and not passed to other businesses. If the law ever requires the lodge to share a record with an authority, we will share only what is required and no more.

Your rights

You may ask to see the details held about you, to have them corrected or to have them removed. Write to the booking address, and a person will reply within thirty days. The lodge tries to follow the Australian Privacy Principles, and you may complain to the national privacy regulator if you are not satisfied.

Cookies and similar notes

This website keeps two short notes in your browser, one for your age confirmation and one for your cookie choice. They are described on the Cookies explained page, together with the map on the street page, which may set cookies of its own when it loads.
